Gabi and Tahir first met when they were 18 and 19 through friends at college and have been together ever since then. They both love being outdoors and so it was a lovely surprise when walking around Keswick Lake that Tahir asked Gabi to marry him back in July 2022. Despite being engaged for over a year they decided to plan their wedding in only 5 weeks, they said ironically they didn't want the stress. They both wanted a really relaxed day with family and very close friends there and this is what they had and it was perfect! Bartle Hall is a venue I have photographed at many, many times but it was the first time I've been back this year and I really love the autumn colours in the grounds. Choosing the 2-hour micro wedding package I have they wanted a little bit of getting ready, the ceremony, some family and couple photos, the speeches, and with only 17 guests and a short timeline for the day this worked out perfectly for them. Gabi and Tahir had their reception in the sunroom which was a first for me but absolutely perfect for a small reception and the views out to the grounds were gorgeous. Sometimes things just happen in life for a reason and how I met Alex and Jon is one of those. Back in 2020 when we were under lockdown I decided to do a charity doorstep shoot around Penwortham where I live and myself and my family went on our walk around Penwortham and Alex's mum, Morag, was one of the people who had their photo taken so when Alex and Jon were looking for a photographer she recommended me and the rest as they say is history haha. It was a glorious sunny October day when I arrived at Salmesbury Hall and it stayed that way all day. There was a slight nip in the air but a wonderful day that really set off Salmesbury Hall. I've shot here a few times and it's such a lovely placce to have so close. Alex and Jon's day was filled with laughter, from the antics Morag got up too, to her dad giving everyone a pen as a present, the singing waiters and the dancing they got John to do, competition style all the way until we left joy was everywhere. It was hard to choose but here are a few of my favourites:

After meeting online in 2022 Ruth and Charles got engaged in 2023 on the banks of Loughrigg Tarn in the Lake District. They celebrate their engagement by climbing Loughrigg Fell. Ruth told me that the jewel in her engagement ring looks like an emerald but it's not and that last winter it was said we would see a green comet but it never happened and it could be a small part of that Charlie captured for her ;) Weddings in October are always either glorious autumn sun or rain and Ruth and Charlie had a day filled with rain but it didn't dampen the excitment. It was the first in my 15 years of being a wedding photographer that it has rained all day without a break. Sadly it meant that we couldn't get out to the park as planned for some couple and family photos but with a little bit of help from my lights we got some lovely ones inside and a gorgeous one in the rain. Gavin and Adam met initially through an app in early 2018.  Gavin was going through some life changes and needed a friend and a night out and Adam seemed to have a lot in common.  Adam fell in love pretty much straight away but Gavin was a bit more cautious and busy with other things so life went on for three months.  They bumped into each other at Bollox - a night club at the Deaf Institute - over Pride Weekend in 2018 and they haven't really looked back. The Pandemic threw them closer together sooner than they'd planned, but it worked out and I think it was the perfect match from the minute I met them I knew I wanted to be their wedding photographer. Every time we met the sun shone on us and they're such fun. Gavin made their shirts and his suit and they looked amazing, I think he needs to make me some shirts haha. The ceremony and in fact the whole day was filled with love, joy and a few tears. They got married at Stockport registry office and then all the guests headed to V on Canal Street in an old red bus which was great fun and led to a few funny moments and me being told off by the conductor for moving. V is a gorgeous venue and the atmosphere is wonderful it was a perfect fit for their day. I stole Adam and Gavin away so we could wander around Canal Street to grab some wonderful couple photos and had a good laugh as we walked around. It was so hard t pick my favourites but have a nosey below:

Liliya and Mark met 15 years ago and fell in love but circumstances tore them apart and they carried on with their lives separately. A few years ago they met again and fell back in love immediately after getting engaged last year they were excited to get married. Sadly with the war happening in Ukraine it meant that Liliyas family were unable to attend. They chose to get married at Burnley registry office and it was a lovely ceremony with a few funny moments as well as emotional ones. I think Mark might be the only groom who answered his phone during the signing of the register to help lost guests find their way. After heading to Townley park for some photos they had their reception at the Firepit which is a lovely venue. Here are a few of my favourites:

Pauline and Mark got married at Preston Registry office in a small but lovely ceremony, it was filled with lots of joy and tears. After the registry office we headed over to Avenham Park for some lovely couple photos. Avenham is such a great place to have in the middle of Preston City Centre, it surprises a lot fo people as it just gets bigger and bigger the more you walk through it. Jenny and Mark's wedding day was also the same day as the Southport Air show which led to a little bit of a delay for some guests arriving with all the crazy traffic however the wedding started and the emotion was palpable. It really was a celebration of their lives and family together. I aksed Jenny how they met and got engaged: 'We met in the Fleece in Penwortham and started dating 11 years ago, Mark was the tall handsome guy in a checked shirt. We got engaged on Christmas Day 2021, we don’t like to rush things. Mark proposed on one knee with our three children sat around opening presents. We love Christmas Day, it’s certainly my favourite day of the year and it was perfect! We sadly had to postpone the wedding we had booked during lockdown as I lost our triplet pregnancy and we were too sad to celebrate. Then our little rainbow Iris came along and filled us with happiness again, Iris is named after the Goddess of rainbows and is also a flower we both love as I'm a keen gardener. We have truly been blessed. This was the earliest we could manage to plan our little wedding and have made the invitations and as much as we can by hand and planned everything ourselves. Friends at the Village teapot are providing the Afternoon Tea and food and I’m also making our wedding cake. Beth had gone to college with a bride I'd photographed in March called Melissa and she had seen Melissa's engagement photos and loved my style and the photos so she booked me to photograph her and Jacks special day. When we met for a brew we chatted over all things geeky (wait til you see the cake) and just had a good laugh as we talked through thier plans. Jack and Beth met when he first started university and was he handed a note by someone with Beth's name on to go and find her so he could book on a trip they were all going on and, as they say that was that, that was all it took for them to get introduced and fall in love. Beth and Jack got married on a hot sunny day in September at the college they both attended. There was a Marquee in the gardens and lots of yellow roses on the tables, garden games, and some very tasty pulled pork. Their day was very, very relaxed and felt like a garden party which is exactly what they wanted. All their friends danced the night away and Beth had a father-daughter dance which made me smile and feel emotional at the same time as my Grandma had died the day before their wedding so the words of the song rung very true. Lesly and Joe were having a small and intimate wedding at the Old Kiosk in Sunnyhurst woods Darwen. I haven't ever shot there before but many years ago went to my Aunty'sbirthday party there as the woods are her favourite place so the week before myself and the kids went for a walk around the woods and venue and there are so many lovely spaces it was hard to choose where to photograph first. The day was sunny and bright which in 2023 was a minor miracle as it's rained most of the year, and Joe looked a bit nervous waiting for his beautiful bride but she arrived perfectly on time and the wedding began. It was really lovely to see all their friends and family enjoying the day, laughing, crying and talking through memories of the couple. Lesly and Joe booked the 2-hour package which was perfect for their small and intimate wedding. Here are a few of my favourites:

I first met Kirsty and Kiel during lockdown over Zoom and it feels like so long ago now so I was really looking forward to photographing thier wedding. Their wedding took place at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe on a dry August day, which this year is a miracle! They had a super relaxed day which was really lovely. Kiel dropped the ring during the ceremony but everyone just laughed, including Kiel, and had a giggle about how nervous they both were but once they said 'I do' the nerves went away. One of the most fun parts of the day was when one of the bridesmaids rapped along to her favourite song on the dancefloor microphone in hand while everyone screamed, shouted and danced along. Kirsty and Kiel have been together 16 years since they were teenagers. They had their first date at Lytham St Anne's on the beach. Kiel proposed on Christmas Day 2019 he had their daughter Aria hand Kirsty a present (ring) and he knelt and proposed then and there. One thing I say to my clients alot is that you don't have to have a full days wedding photography, you can have a small wedding and have a short wedding package and my Micro wedding package is becoming a fast favourite for many couples who are having a more intimate and small wedding and Laura and Stephen are one of those couples. Their wedding day was In July and with only a few guests having two photographers for 12 hours would have been to much so after chatting they booked the micro package. Below are a few of my favourites from the day but here's Laura to tell you a bit more about how her and Stephen met. 'Me and Stephen met through work, we both worked in a hotel. We got engaged on Christmas day 2013. We had been together for 10 years and our daughter was only 5 years old at the time. We now have another daughter Sophie who is nearly 2 and a half. I think we've left it long enough so it's now time to make it official and get married!' 'We met through mutual friends in Summer 2021 and spent time hanging out as friends in a group setting for some time but then in the Autumn, we started spending time just the two of us on a more intimate level. Going on dates to art galleries around Manchester and different food places we found many common bonds through music, film, fashion, and food. Although it had felt real for some time, we put the official label on our relationship on Christmas Eve 2021. Just over a year later Rob proposed to Amélie on the 26th February 2023 in Lake District, specifically Grasmere. During a brisk morning walk up the hills around the lake of Grasmere Rob got down on one knee. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery, Amélie said yes. This was followed by a surprise luxurious spa weekend during which we celebrated our engagement in style at Lordore Falls spa hotel.' After weeks of torrential rain Amelie and Robs wedding day arrived and brought the sun with it. They decided to get married at the registry office earlier in the day so they could have the wedding ceremony they wanted with a friend and pastor leading the service. The Ivory Tower provided a wonderful backdop for their day. As Amelie appeared down the aisle Rob started to tear up, they shared personal hand written vows during the ceremony. We headed over to Avenham for some photos as well as using the outside space at the Ivory Tower to capture some fun photos. The speeches were split up over the day between courses, dancing and food. They even had a donut tower! When I first spoke to me they had said they weren't going to have a photographer but regretted that decision and I was recommended to them a few months before.
