Hollie and Jake’s wedding at Rivington Hall Barn

Hollie and Jake first met whilst they were both working as lifeguards. They made a big splash on one another and ended up getting engaged outside Lincoln Cathedral just a few days before moving back home after uni.

Jake and Holly met when working as lifeguards at Bamber Bridge leisure centre. It was her second shift and Jake would not stop talking. Little did she know at this point she would be seeing a lot more of him as he took on extra shifts, hoping Hollie would be working. After working together, and speaking outside of work, Jake took Hollie on thier first date in September. They went to Frankie and Benny’s and Jake’s steak came out rare but he wouldn’t send it back, instead he ate the edges and left the middle. This was followed by bowling where things became a little more relaxed. Later that week, it became ‘official’.

Fast forward 6 years and they were both getting ready to leave Lincoln, where they had moved to for uni, and move back home having bought a house and wanting to be closer to family. Jake proposed in front of Lincoln cathedral, a place that was somewhere special having graduated there. It wasn’t anything over the top, in fact Jake moved out of the view of people to do it, not wanting to draw extra attention to an intimate moment - it was perfect and the best way to end that chapter of our lives.

The pair got married at the Grade II listed Rivington Hall Barn in Rivington, close to Chorley and Bolton in Lancashire. It’s a lovely venue with lots of character, surrounded by fields, lawned gardens and woodland.

I joined the bridal party as they were getting ready and it was so joyful, with lots of giggles and fun. This set the tone for the whole day, which was filled with laughter - particularly during the speeches when PE teacher Jake, disappeared off to change into his usual get-up of shorts and t-shirt! He did change back into his suit afterwards though, and very smart he looked too! Hollie also looked beautiful in her dress from Ava Rose Hamilton and make-up by Laura Jane.

Hollie and Jake were so lucky with the weather, as it was beautifully sunny and warm, which meant we were able to get lots of photos outside in the grounds. It was a real pleasure to capture all the laughter and joy of their big day - here are a few of my favourites:
