Love on the Bus: Alison and Ken's Unconventional Wedding Journey

Alison and Ken’s wedding day was a beautiful celebration of love and friendship, marking a journey that spanned more than three decades! After over 30 years of knowing each other, their friendship blossomed into romance, leading them to say “I do.” This day was exceptional not only for the couple but also for their guests, thanks to a unique travel arrangement and a heartfelt celebration surrounded by family.

On a crisp autumn morning, friends and family eagerly boarded a cozy bus, buzzing with excitement for the day ahead. The bus ride to St George’s Church in Blackburn was filled with laughter, stories, and joyful anticipation, setting a perfect tone for the celebration. This wasn't just any church; it was the very place where Ken serves as a minister. The significance of their vows exchanged in Ken's sacred space added emotional depth to the ceremony.

Their love story unfolded beautifully with heartfelt vows shared in front of family and friends, many of whom had witnessed their journey over the years. After years of friendship and near misses, Alison and Ken finally celebrated their love, marking a new and exciting chapter in their lives together. The ceremony was a true reflection of their relationship, brimming with laughter, tears of joy, and genuine emotion.

After exchanging vows, guests boarded the bus once more, this time filled with joyous conversations and anticipation for the celebration awaiting them. The Rufford Arms, a charming rustic venue, welcomed the couple and their loved ones with warmth and elegance.

Alison and Ken’s unconventional wedding journey was about much more than saying “I do.” It was a tribute to years of friendship, deep love, and the joy of family. Traveling by bus, celebrating at the elegant Rufford Arms, and creating lasting memories in a beloved location made their special day truly one-of-a-kind. Here’s to love, laughter, and many more adventures waiting for them!
