Meeting Oliver

It’s been a flurry of baby goodness recently and it was lovely to meet baby Oliver and his mum and dad. Abi saw a post of mine on instagram and contacted me to go and capture some of this special new time as a family. It was such a lovely shoot and I can’t wait to show you some of my favourites below. But first I thought it would be good fro Abi to explain about how she found being a new mum in Covid times.

‘Being pregnant and giving birth during a pandemic of course came with some negatives, including many family and friends never seeing my baby bump or feeling those kicks, Mike not being allowed to attend every scan or appointment and missing out on those shopping trips to kit out baby’s wardrobe, but we also found there were plenty of positives. I suffered with morning sickness for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy, so being able to work from home and not having the pressure to socialise really helped when I felt so poorly. We also tried to put a positive spin on not being able to have visitors after Oliver’s birth. Luckily we were allowed a support bubble, which meant that we could have the support of my parents which we felt very lucky for as lots of people didn’t have those last year. We also saw the fact we weren’t allowed any other visitors as a great opportunity to spend a few weeks getting used to our new family life in our baby bubble, which was such a special time.’

Here are a few of my favourites.
