Richard and Lynda's harry potter themed wedding at Bashall Barn

Richard and Lynda met through a dating app and connected over their mutual love of games. They instantly felt at ease with one another and as if they’d known each other for years. So when Richard popped the question at Alnwick Castle [https://www.alnwickcastle.com] (with a custom made Golden Snitch ring box no less!), it was an easy ‘yes’ for Lynda.

The couple picked Bashall Barn [https://www.bashallbarn.co.uk] as their venue, after visiting the restaurant there. They fell in love with the Barn’s rustic feel and how secluded it was.

As Richard and Lynda are both big Harry Potter fans, they opted to weave this into their wedding. They didn’t want to go over the top with the theme, but instead added little touches here and there, like choosing the Ravenclaw House navy blue as their colour. Their table plan was based on the Maurader’s Map and each guest was given a handmade wand place card as their wedding favour. The theme continued with the cake, with everyone getting their own individual cupcake with a sorting hat and coloured filling, sorting each guest into their own Hogwort’s house. The wedding party’s flowers were made from pages of their favourite Harry Potter books and at the end of the night they even staged a wand fight!

The whole day was truly magical, as are Richard and Lynda. I think the goal is to find someone you can laugh with forever and these two were always laughing together, and I hope they always will.
