  • Allison & Harry’s wedding blessing at Whalley Church

British-born Harry moved to America in the 8th grade (that’s Year 9, to us Brits). He attended Lambert High School, which is where he met the lovely Allison. After high school, the pair went their separate ways for college and work. It wasn’t until 5 years later when Allison moved back to Atlanta that she and Harry reconnected and started dating. In 2019, after a few years together, it was time for Allison to meet Harry’s extended family in the UK. Thankfully, Allison received the seal of approval, even from Harry’s nana, Hazel, who is a renowned hard nut to crack. A few months later, on February 13th 2020, Harry whisked Allison away to New York City for her birthday. One morning they went for a stroll in Central Park, when they reached the John Lennon Memorial, Harry dropped to one knee and asked Allison to marry him, to which she promptly said ‘Yes!”. Unfortunately their euphoria was soon to be interrupted by the arrival of COVID-19, and the couple began their engagement in lockdown at their condo in Atlanta. As the world started opening up again, Allison and Harry began touring wedding venues, and settled on a mountain paradise in North Georgia. They picked 24th April, 2021 for their wedding date, thinking that the Global pandemic would be well and truly over by then. Sadly, that wasn’t the case, and Harry’s UK family weren’t able to attend the wedding. Fast forward a year, and with COVID restrictions lifting, Allison, Harry, and Harry’s mum began planning a wedding blessing in England, so they could celebrate with their UK family. And that’s when they got in touch with me, to ask if I’d photograph the happy occasion. On 22nd June, 2022, Harry and Allison had a beautiful wedding blessing at Whalley Church, surrounded by a small group of family and friends. The church was the very same that Harry’s parents were married, and Harry himself was christened. Allison’s parents, Tyler and Jennifer, also graciously agreed to make the trip to the UK to attend the blessing. This gave them the opportunity to see where Harry was from. Tyler and Jennifer immediately fell for the beauty of the Ribble Valley and are already planning their next trip! I was on hand to capture all the magical moments during this special celebration. These photos, and the memories they elicit, will last a lifetime and provide a family tale to be told for years to come. Here are a few of my favourites:

  • Kate and Michael get married at Stockport Town Hall

I first met Kate and Michael at my Mother’s Day mini shoot back in April 2021. They loved their photos from the shoot so much that they asked me if I could photograph their wedding. The couple tied the knot against the breath-taking backdrop of the magnificent Marble Staircase in Stockport Town Hall. After the ceremony it was on to one of the happy couple’s favourite local restaurants for a delicious Wedding Breakfast with their guests. Following the meal, the whole wedding party went back to Kate and Michael’s home for cake and to continue the party. The couple had even hired an ice cream truck for guests to enjoy! Kate and Michael took their first dance in their dining room, with their guests squashed in and dancing all around them. The whole wedding was small but perfectly formed. It was a really lovely, relaxed day and it just shows you can have the day of your dreams without all the fuss. Here are some of my favs from their special day:

  • Tom and Pippa’s engagement shoot in Lancaster

It’s always lovely when people get in touch after seeing my photographs for their friends and family. So having previously photographed Tom’s sister and brother in laws (2014) and then brother and sister in laws (2017) wedding I was delighted when he and bride-to-be Pippa approached me to capture some images to celebrate their engagement. The couple chose the beautiful setting of a friends farm garden as the backdrop for their photographs. We picked out a few different quiet spots around the water, which gave a real sense of calm, peace and intimacy. It was a really fun shoot, with a lovely couple, and I’m so excited to be photographing their big day too.

  • Ioana and Christian’s intimate wedding at Preston Registry Office

When it comes to weddings, I’m a strong believer that size really doesn’t matter. It’s more about you and who you have with you. Ioana and Christian opted for a super small wedding at Preston Registry Office, with only eight guests, including their son. So I felt even more privileged to be asked to be part of their special day. Ioana wore a blue floral dress, paired with a beautiful floral headband, which was perfect for their spring-time wedding. Christian looked very dapper too in his blue suit. After the ceremony, rather than a formal reception, the wedding party went to Greekouzina to continue the celebrations. It was a new location for me and required some inventive angles and setup, but I was able to get some really lovely shots. Here are some of my favourites:

  • Alice and Niall get married at Stockport Town Hall

Alice and Niall opted for a small wedding at Stockport Town Hall [https://www.stockport.gov.uk/topic/weddings-stockport-town-hall ], with only 15 of their closest friends and family present. Despite only being a small wedding, the couple had carefully considered every little detail. The bride wore a lovely beaded headband and light blue dress, which was perfectly complemented by Niall’s blue suit and their flowers. Looking for beauty in the location I am photographing is a big part of my job. Sometimes it’s easy, other time’s it's a bit more difficult, but I tend to think the harder spaces can be beautiful too. Alica and Niall share my view and really love the 1960s concrete spaces around Stockport, so were keen to use this in their wedding photos. Despite only having 1 hour, we were able to cover a few different locations around the Town Hall. And by using different angles and techniques such as long exposures I was able to capture some really special and beautiful shots. I won a Wedisson award for the image below of Alice and Niall. I asked them to trust me and stand there and it took a few minutes but we got the shot and we all love it! Here are some of my favourites from the day:

  • Eloise and Oliver tie the knot at Browsholme Hall, Lancashire

Eloise and Oliver met one another through their mutual friends Harriet and Ben, and have been together for nearly 10 years already. Oliver popped the question at sunrise, on a beach in Costa Rica - how romantic! The couple chose Lancashire’s oldest ancestral home, Browsholme Hall [https://browsholme.com], for their wedding. This impressive venue, nestled in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, provided a wonderful setting for their big day. Like many people, Eloise and Oliver felt pretty uncomfortable having their photos taken. I managed to help get Eloise and Oliver to relax and feel at ease, so they could just get on and enjoy themselves, whilst I happily snapped away capturing all those special moments. Here are a few highlights from the day, including my personal favourite, the confetti shot - there was so much confetti it looked like it was snowing: Suppliers: Venue - Browsholme Hall Hair - Victoria louise hair MUA - Makeup by Abbie H Ice Cream - Tootsies Ice Cream Flowers - Flowergirls Whalley Cake - Iced with Elegance Penwortham Food - Twelve Catering DJ - DJ Paul Harwood

  • Richard and Lynda's harry potter themed wedding at Bashall Barn

Richard and Lynda met through a dating app and connected over their mutual love of games. They instantly felt at ease with one another and as if they’d known each other for years. So when Richard popped the question at Alnwick Castle [https://www.alnwickcastle.com] (with a custom made Golden Snitch ring box no less!), it was an easy ‘yes’ for Lynda. The couple picked Bashall Barn [https://www.bashallbarn.co.uk] as their venue, after visiting the restaurant there. They fell in love with the Barn’s rustic feel and how secluded it was. As Richard and Lynda are both big Harry Potter fans, they opted to weave this into their wedding. They didn’t want to go over the top with the theme, but instead added little touches here and there, like choosing the Ravenclaw House navy blue as their colour. Their table plan was based on the Maurader’s Map and each guest was given a handmade wand place card as their wedding favour. The theme continued with the cake, with everyone getting their own individual cupcake with a sorting hat and coloured filling, sorting each guest into their own Hogwort’s house. The wedding party’s flowers were made from pages of their favourite Harry Potter books and at the end of the night they even staged a wand fight! The whole day was truly magical, as are Richard and Lynda. I think the goal is to find someone you can laugh with forever and these two were always laughing together, and I hope they always will. You can also find this wedding featured in Your North West Wedding Magazine: https://www.county.wedding/image-upload/flippingbook/YNWW77/23/ Suppliers: Venue: Bashall Barn Make-up: Ashleigh Lauren MUA Dress: Kate’s Bridal Room Hair: Hair by Alison Cake: 8 Bit-bakery Entertainment: Dancefloor Couture Ltd Stationery: Little Green Wedding Flowers: FloralDerangement Here are some of the magic moments from the day: RIchard and Lynda asked me to create a special photo of them having a Harry Potter style wand fight, they got to choose their wand colour and they even brought their own wands!

  • Meeting Hallie

I've photographed the Bowens and their growing family for around 6 years just before Evelyn was born and we did a bump session together. It's been wonderful seeing their family grow and change over the years and to come back and photograph their newest arrival Hallie after she settled into family life. I love going back and photographing families over years and seeing them grow. It's such an honour to be asked and I love it! Here are a few of my favourites:

  • Sarah and Matt get married at Mytton Fold, Lancashire

I do love a good recommendation and Sarah and Matt had seen my photos I had taken at Hannah and Harry's wedding last year and loved them, after having a chat they decided to book me for their wedding. We met in person at Hannah and Harry's 1-year wedding celebration (they had got married in lockdown and were having a party to celebrate with all their friends) and it was lovely to meet them. They had been together for a while and had two lovely little girls together. I joked with them before their big day that Matt would probably be the one to get upset as Sarah walked down the aisle and I was right! It was genuine love and care for his amazing wife and I love that! The day was a bit wet and wild but we managed to find some places to sneak out too and have some photos as well as a lovely little bar area where they could have a moment's of peace together. The whole day was just filled with love and care for each other, you could tell how much they loved each other and it was so wonderful to see a larger celebration with friends and family happening again. There was beer pong, shuffleboard, a magician and lots of dancing in the evening do. I will say beer pong went down a storm! Suppliers were: Dress: Wed2be Venue styling: Atmosphere Flowers: Kathleen's Florist Suits: Cavani Here are a few of my favorites:

  • Richard and Lyndas Engagment photo session at Avenham Park

I first met Richard and Lynda at a small wedding Fayre just before lockdown. We had a zoom meeting when they booked with myself but after having their wedding rearranged and some health issues for them I hadn't seen them in a while so it was lovely to get together and have a little engagement shoot before their wedding. They get married in a few weeks ad I can't wait to show you more but for now here are a few of my favourites from the session:

  • Emma and Rob get married at Tatton Weddings at Stock Farm Barn

I got an email from Emma in September asking if I was available to photograph their intimate family wedding in November and of course I said yes! They had been together for 15 years but only got engaged and decided that now they were going to do it they'd just get married and it was such a wonderful day. It was one of those crisp Autumn days were its cold but sunny and the sun shone around Stock Farm. The leaves were still red and the people didn't get too blue in the cold haha. Below are some of my favourite songs but here is Emma to give us a bit about how they met and got engaged: 'We met through friends in Manchester in the final month of parties at University back in 2006. We went on a few dates and learned that for the most part of our lives, we'd grown up 20 minutes away from each other, which is where our families still lived. Rob stayed in Manchester for a year while I moved home so I could save up some money to do some traveling I'd wanted to do for some time - a passion we now share. We moved in together and a short 15 years later... we got engaged in early August of this year. Rob & I like to go hiking and walking and we got engaged near where we live on a hill at sunset with a view out over where we now live and as far as where we both grew up. Since we wanted a small wedding, we decided on a quick turnaround, for a change! '

  • Jason turns one

I’ve photographed Josh and Steph’s big life events since they got engaged back in 2016. After photographing their engagement, wedding, newborn and now Jason’s first birthday I count it as a privilege. I genuinely love being a part of peoples lives like this, it’s amazing seeing families grow and change. Jason has the best facial expressions, he was a little wary at first and gave me the look haha but after a couple minutes we were buddy’s and he wanted to show me his walking skills, which are very good btw. It felt fitting we photographed his first birthday in his house, the place a year ago in the midst of Covid that we photographed his newborn photos so that Josh and Steph could share photos with family and friends. Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot:
