  • Laura and Stephen get Married at Farrington Lodge

One thing I say to my clients alot is that you don't have to have a full days wedding photography, you can have a small wedding and have a short wedding package and my Micro wedding package is becoming a fast favourite for many couples who are having a more intimate and small wedding and Laura and Stephen are one of those couples. Their wedding day was In July and with only a few guests having two photographers for 12 hours would have been to much so after chatting they booked the micro package. Below are a few of my favourites from the day but here's Laura to tell you a bit more about how her and Stephen met. 'Me and Stephen met through work, we both worked in a hotel. We got engaged on Christmas day 2013. We had been together for 10 years and our daughter was only 5 years old at the time. We now have another daughter Sophie who is nearly 2 and a half. I think we've left it long enough so it's now time to make it official and get married!' • Amelie and Rob get married at Ivory Tower, Preston

'We met through mutual friends in Summer 2021 and spent time hanging out as friends in a group setting for some time but then in the Autumn, we started spending time just the two of us on a more intimate level. Going on dates to art galleries around Manchester and different food places we found many common bonds through music, film, fashion, and food. Although it had felt real for some time, we put the official label on our relationship on Christmas Eve 2021. Just over a year later Rob proposed to Amélie on the 26th February 2023 in Lake District, specifically Grasmere. During a brisk morning walk up the hills around the lake of Grasmere Rob got down on one knee. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery, Amélie said yes. This was followed by a surprise luxurious spa weekend during which we celebrated our engagement in style at Lordore Falls spa hotel.' After weeks of torrential rain Amelie and Robs wedding day arrived and brought the sun with it. They decided to get married at the registry office earlier in the day so they could have the wedding ceremony they wanted with a friend and pastor leading the service. The Ivory Tower provided a wonderful backdop for their day. As Amelie appeared down the aisle Rob started to tear up, they shared personal hand written vows during the ceremony. We headed over to Avenham for some photos as well as using the outside space at the Ivory Tower to capture some fun photos. The speeches were split up over the day between courses, dancing and food. They even had a donut tower! When I first spoke to me they had said they weren't going to have a photographer but regretted that decision and I was recommended to them a few months before. They said as I left it was the best decision they had made for the wedding. Here are a few of my favourites from their wedding day:

  • Jade and Chris get married at the Wedding Field

It was supposed to be a sunny Saturday in June and it was for a time but the rain kept coming and going. The sky went from a gorgeous blue to dark grey, then black then blue again. Jade and Chris did not let it spoil the fun of their wedding day though, they laughed, smiled, held a brolly or their dog and just enjoyed thier day. It was a fantastic wedding with all the personal touches, like their friend marrying them, or the feeling of joy there all day. I was only there for a couple of hours but we had such a great time and I really love how the photos really reflect Jad and Chris's day. It was so hard to pick my favorites but here are a few:

  • Hollie and Jake’s wedding at Rivington Hall Barn

Hollie and Jake first met whilst they were both working as lifeguards. They made a big splash on one another and ended up getting engaged outside Lincoln Cathedral just a few days before moving back home after uni. Jake and Holly met when working as lifeguards at Bamber Bridge leisure centre. It was her second shift and Jake would not stop talking. Little did she know at this point she would be seeing a lot more of him as he took on extra shifts, hoping Hollie would be working. After working together, and speaking outside of work, Jake took Hollie on thier first date in September. They went to Frankie and Benny’s and Jake’s steak came out rare but he wouldn’t send it back, instead he ate the edges and left the middle. This was followed by bowling where things became a little more relaxed. Later that week, it became ‘official’. Fast forward 6 years and they were both getting ready to leave Lincoln, where they had moved to for uni, and move back home having bought a house and wanting to be closer to family. Jake proposed in front of Lincoln cathedral, a place that was somewhere special having graduated there. It wasn’t anything over the top, in fact Jake moved out of the view of people to do it, not wanting to draw extra attention to an intimate moment - it was perfect and the best way to end that chapter of our lives. The pair got married at the Grade II listed Rivington Hall Barn in Rivington, close to Chorley and Bolton in Lancashire. It’s a lovely venue with lots of character, surrounded by fields, lawned gardens and woodland. I joined the bridal party as they were getting ready and it was so joyful, with lots of giggles and fun. This set the tone for the whole day, which was filled with laughter - particularly during the speeches when PE teacher Jake, disappeared off to change into his usual get-up of shorts and t-shirt! He did change back into his suit afterwards though, and very smart he looked too! Hollie also looked beautiful in her dress from Ava Rose Hamilton and make-up by Laura Jane. Hollie and Jake were so lucky with the weather, as it was beautifully sunny and warm, which meant we were able to get lots of photos outside in the grounds. It was a real pleasure to capture all the laughter and joy of their big day - here are a few of my favourites: Venue: Rivington Hall Barn Flowers: Fusion Flowers Dress: Ava Rose Hamilton Make-up: Beauty by Laura Jane

  • Danielle and Iffan’s church wedding and Stirk House reception

Danielle and Iffan met in 2019 when they were both working in Critical Care. It certainly wasn’t love at first sight though, as initially Danielle didn’t like Iffan and thought he was rude! But the pair kept talking and Iffan soon won Danielle over, and just a year later the couple set off on a big adventure and went travelling for three months. After that, Danielle knew Iffan was ‘THE ONE’, and so when he asked her to marry him during a romantic break to the Lakes for her 30th birthday, Danielle of course said “YES!”. I’ve known Danielle’s family for years and photographed her sister’s wedding, as well as some of her bridesmaids’ weddings too. And her mum even has the same name as me! So, when Danielle and Iffan got engaged, I was delighted they came straight to me for their photography. As Iffan is Muslim, the couple had a Nikah ceremony a few weeks before their church wedding, so they could celebrate both of their backgrounds and traditions, with all sides of the family. For their Western wedding, Danielle and Iffan chose Fulwood Free Methodist Church for their ceremony, followed by a reception at Stirk House, Clitheroe, in the beautiful Ribble Valley. It was a really hot and sunny day, so we were glad of the shade from the trees in the surrounding woodland. The dappled light through the trees also provided a beautiful backdrop for their photos. Disney-fan Danielle looked every bit the Disney princess in her gorgeous dress and make-up by Mimi Lomax. They are two of the loveliest people you’ll meet and the whole day was such a celebration, it was so lovely to be a part of it. Let's play a little game while you look through my favourites shall we? How many of my previous Brides and grooms can you spot at this wedding? Answers at the end of the gallery Answer: 6

  • Simon and Rachel get married at Sparth House, Lancashire

27th May 2023 Simon and Rachel came to me following a recommendation from their niece Sara, who’s wedding I photographed a few years ago. It means so much when people pass on my details to their friends and family, and it’s especially lovely when I get to see my former clients again! The pair chose the exclusive Georgian manor Sparth House in Clayton le Moors, Lancashire, for their wedding. The picturesque gardens at Spart House not only provided a beautiful backdrop for Simon and Rachel’s photographs, but also proved to be the perfect setting for a spot of axe throwing after the ceremony! Both Simon and Rachel DJ and there were lots of vinyls and homemade bits around, which made it feel really personal. It was only a short day, but it was lovely. Simon and Rachel are a great couple and the wedding was so much fun, filled with lots of laughs. Here are a few of my highlights:

  • Celina and Conrad get married in Skipton and BillyBObs Ice Cream Parlour

I remember the phone call clearly, Celina had called to ask if I was available to photograph their wedding on a Wednesday in April. It was only a few weeks before the wedding and they weren’t going to have a photographer as it was going to be a super small wedding however the decided to call me and I’m so happy they did. When we met we immediately hit it of with ideas and things we could do with the time they had booked. They decided they wanted their couple photos before their ceremony so I thought it would be a great idea to do a first look which we did. We met in Skipton town centre and I got Conrad to close his eyes and not look as Celina approached. It was lots of fun to photograph as he was really nervous! Celina looked stunning in her green velvet dress and Conrad had a rocker look. We walked around the town centre from the castle to the registry office to capture photos for an hour before the ceremony and it was so much fun. The ceremony was small but so lovely and filled with family, Celinas parents had come over from America for the wedding. After we had confetti outside and headed to BillyBobs Parlour where they had a whole section to themselves. We captured some photos in the old yellow school bus and in the booths. It was only 3 hours but we did so much and had so much fun. I asked Celina to tell me how they met and got engaged and this is what she wrote: Conrad and I actually met on Tinder in February 2020 (so, pre-COVID)- I woke up one morning to a message from him. We chatted and hit it off straight away, so we met about a week later in Southport on our first date with a walk on the pier. Conrad proposed last autumn while we were visiting my parents in Montana. We were visiting Glacier National Park with my parents, and he got down on one knee in front of the “sacred dancing cascade” - a gorgeous waterfall. There was a small crowd on a nearby bridge that applauded when it was clear I said “Yes”. One of the bystanders took pictures of Conrad getting down on one knee and sent them to us afterward (I think my parents were too caught up in the moment for photos, haha!) It felt so surreal, like something out of a movie - it was the most beautiful, romantic day. Here are a few of my favourites:

  • Karen and Richard's wedding at Wyrebank in Garstang

Karen and Richard first met through a mutual friend back in 2012. They hit it off straight away and exchanged numbers. They soon discovered they had more friends in common, which helped avoid those sometimes awkward ‘meet the friends’ moments. Richard had just moved into a flat with his brother, who was away in the Army at the time, and so Karen offered to help get him settled in. After that, Karen became a frequent visitor and the pair made it ‘official’ in December 2012. The couple have definitely faced a few trials over their decade together, especially with Richard’s Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. But with Richard’s tactical approach to life, and Karen’s willingness and drive to ‘get stuff done’ they’ve managed to overcome every challenge together, and come out even stronger. Karen and Richard held their wedding at Wyrebank, which as the name suggests, is situated on the banks of the River Wyre, in the beautiful market town of Garstang. They enlisted the help of the talented Pretty Little Parties, who styled the venue and flowers beautifully. Everything went so well and Karen and Richard said it was the “best day ever!” and these pictures will give them lots of fond memories to look back on:

  • Chynna and Jame’s spring weddingat AbbeyWood Estate

Chynna and James met whilst they were both working at B&Q and quickly hit it off. James knew Chynna was ‘the one’ when they were in the car, both singing along to Bruce Springsteen at the top of their lungs, and he proposed (on skis!) on top of a mountain in Italy! The couple got married at St Laurence Church in the market town of Frodsham in Cheshire. Chynna had cherry blossoms painted on her nails for the occasion, so when I spotted a cherry blossom tree in the church grounds I had to seize the opportunity and get a picture of them underneath it. After the ceremony, we headed over to Abbeywood Estate in Delamere for the reception, where even Chynna and James’s dog joined in the celebrations! Abbeywood is set amongst 45 acres of stunning grounds, which provided the perfect backdrop for their photos. Inside, Chynna and James had filled the venue with their own homegrown daffodils, adding a real pop of colour and a lovely personal touch. Congratulations again to Chynna and James on your gorgeous wedding. It was so lovely to be part of your special day. • Becka and Sam’s wedding at Didsbury House, Manchester

Sam and Becka met through an online dating website back in 2014. Their first date coincidently fell on Becka’s parent’s wedding anniversary, which she joked was either going to be a good or bad sign! It didn’t seem like it was getting off to a great start when they kept getting kicked out of places as they closed, but that first date ended up lasting 7 hours, and they’ve been together ever since! Sam proposed to Becka, in December 2021 - he’d originally intended to pop the question while they were out for dinner in Manchester, but with all the crowds of people at their Christmas parties, he decided to wait until they were back at home. Becka was actually curled up in her PJs wearing a book! I met Becka and Sam at a wedding fayre - they were standing in front of me watching the catwalk, and I clocked they were both wearing Dr. Martens. So, when they turned around I gestured to our matching footwear and said “I think we need to talk!”. Becka and Sam got married at Didsbury House Hotel near Manchester. Becka loves to plan, and did a brilliant job organising lots of fun and personal touches for their big day, like their wedding cheese from Cheese Hamlet, bubble confetti and table names based on their favourite book series (which Sam had even quoted during his proposal!). The whole day was really chilled and relaxed and I was honored to be part of it. Decoration and flowers: Willow and Fig Dress: Monsoon Wedding cheese: Cheese Hamlet Hair: Absolutely Flawless DJ: PGGS Music Beer: Sips Mobile Bar

  • Josh and Melissa tie the knot at Bashall Barn

Melissa and Josh first met in 2018 thanks to the matchmaking efforts of Josh's sister, Iona. She arranged to meet with both for a shopping trip (not telling either the other was coming!), then swiftly left the pair alone to chat - when Iona came back 45 minutes later, she found Melissa and Josh getting on like a house on fire, and bang, the job was done! Right from that very first day, Josh has made Melissa laugh and feel like the most beautiful girl in the world. During a boat trip on Lake Windermere Josh got down on one knee, cried and asked Melissa to be his wife - who promptly said “yes!”. The couple got married at Bashall Barn in Clitheroe, Lancashire, which has panoramic views across the Ribble Valley. It was a rainy day, but we made use of any breaks in the clouds to get out and take photographs in the grounds with the rolling hills providing a stunning backdrop. Thankfully the rain didn’t dampen spirits and it was a really lovely, fun wedding, and all the guests were lovely too. Melissa and Josh chose a classic vintage peach and green colour scheme for their special day, and their flowers by The Bloom Room were beautiful. Josh looked very dapper in his green tweed suit and Melissa looked gorgeous in her dress from Amelia’s Brides and personalised ‘Mrs Wingfield’ denim jacket. • Hollie and George’s wedding at Bashall Barn, Clitheroe.

Hollie and George met whilst they were both working in recruitment. Thankfully neither decided to give the other the ‘old heave-ho’ and 4 and a half years later they got engaged in Sevilla, Spain. The couple chose the exclusive Bashall Barn in Clitheroe, Lancashire for their wedding venue. I joined them at the Barn in time to capture their guests arriving. Everyone then took to their seats to watch Hollie walk down the aisle in her beautiful, elegant dress from Wife to Be in Warrington, which paired perfectly with her dried flower bouquet by Desert Flowers. George looked great too in his stylish tux, which seems to be a very popular choice amongst grooms at the moment. At the Wedding Breakfast, Hollie and George had a surprise for their guests as their waiters burst into song! Everyone absolutely loved the singing waiters and started waving their napkins in the air and singing along. It was loads of fun and really brought everyone together. Set in the Ribble Valley, the rolling hills and stunning landscape surrounding Bashall Barn certainly provide a great backdrop. And thankfully Hollie and George were blessed with a really sunny day, which meant we were able to make the most of the amazing setting. Here are just a few of my highlights:
