  • Naomi and Jakes Big Day at Charnock Farm, Leyland.

Naomi and Jake had picked a wonderful day to get married the sun was shining and it was that perfect weather were it's not too hot and not too cold, just right for a wedding. The morning was filled with laughter and joy as they both got ready. Naomi seemed rather relaxed and Jake was nervous. Friends and family appeared to get their make up done and hair styled. It wasn't long before it was time to head to Charnock Farm. I always find the morning of weddings always happens the same way. It starts relaxed as people take their time getting ready then all of a sudden it's an hour before the cars are arriving and no one is dressed and panic ensues as everyone scrambles to get ready. Charnock farm once again was beautifully decorated by Naomi and her family the night before. Flowers and fairy lights lit up the venue in a romantic glow as she walked down the aisle towards Jake. I just love how much this couple laughed together, there were in-jokes and little looks the whole day. I always say its the little things that make a relationship last, it's not always about grand gestures, it's about the bringing the other person a brew and making them laugh when they are down. Here are a few of my favourites from the day. It was lovely to be a part of this wonderful couple's wedding.

  • Andy and Becca get Married at Wyresdale Park, Scorton.

Sometimes it takes a little time to fall in love. I know this because my husband took his sweet time asking me out. But for Andy and Becca they took time to get to know each other. They first met at the church they attended.  After hanging out with together with their friends having lots of games nights and takeaways Andy invited himself round to Beccas for coffee a few times. Andy realised he had fallen for Rebecca he loved her adventurous spirit and her beauty was striking.  One night they went out for some food and ended up paddling in the sea at Lytham and he told her how he felt and what lady could resist, so they started dating! Enjoying lots of time together, eating cake, drinking Prosecco, travelling abroad and watching box sets they grew closer every day and shared the same dreams. In August 2018 Andy knew it was time to propose. The first proposal plan Andy prepared didn't work as the hot air balloon ride was cancelled, however, with the support of his best man he planned a lovely walk along the beach at Formby.  During an amazing sunset Andy asked Rebecca to marry him, she of course immediately said yes and 7 months later they were getting married and I had the privilege of capturing their special day. I had the honour of capturing Andy's sisters wedding a few years before so I was more than overjoyed when Andy and Becca asked me to photograph their day. Here are a few of my favourite photos.

  • Meeting Noah

One of my favourite parts of being a photographer is getting to be a part of people'e lives as they grow and change and I got to meet the gorgeous little Noah with his mum and dad. I first photographed Jon and Nikki in August 2017 when we did a little engagement shoot. Not long after they got married which was a fun wedding to photograph. I think my favourite surprise was Nikki's mum playing her trombone with some friends just before the first dance. You can see the wedding and engagement shoot here > Wedding - Engagement Noah made a big entrance into this world spending some time in NICU when he first arrived meaning that it wasn't until now that we managed to do his Fresh 48 shoot but he was ready and had all the cute looks going. It was great to also capture some with his furry friends as well as mum and dad. You can see some of my favourites below. If you want a relaxed way to photograph your new family then get in touch here

  • Tori and Hannes Engagement shoot, Kendal

Tori and Hannes met in 2015, in Siria, a small village in Romania. They were volunteering for a Christian charity called Networks, working with Roma people living in poverty. It was only in their second year that they really started to work together more and it didn't take long for them to realise there was something there, that little spark, although Hannes nearly blew it by suggesting they ran up a massive hill in Siria. Tori was set to leave Romania in July and they decided to try the whole long distance thing. It took them about a year to realise that the distance between them geographically was too far so Hannes moved to England. In the November Tori came hone late from a parents evening to what she thought was just a regular date night, however this time the whole downstairs was covered in candles and Hannes got down on one knee and proposed and of course Tori dais Yes! I'm really excited to be photographing their wedding in July but before that we thought we'd do a little engagement shoot.

  • Louise and Greg get Married at Farrington Lodge, Preston

Sometimes it’s the mundane things in life that can bring the biggest surprises. Louise and Greg met in the most everyday of circumstances, the school playground. They both had children who where in the same class at school but found themselves drawn to talk to each other at drop off and collection. After a time of being good friends Greg suggested they went on a date. Louise said yes. It was April 2018 that Greg pulled up the courage to ask Louise to marry him. They headed to Liverpool for a day out together. Greg steered them towards the place that they first kissed, the waterfront at Albert Docks, and he proposed to Louise on the very spot three years later. Of course she said yes! They were having a very small and intimate wedding at Farrington Lodge in Preston. They asked if I could do a a small package for them and of course I could. I love being a part of people's wedding day, it’s such a special time and I LOVE photographing weddings especially for a couple as much in love as Louise and Greg. It was a warm spring day, even thought the forecast had been for snow, so it was a lovely surprise for everyone to be in the lovely spring warmth. There was a sense of excitement from all invited, even their teenage children were excited! Greg was nervous Louise wouldn’t show up, I guess that’s always a fear groom have especially thanks to Hollywood movies. However Louise did turn up and looked stunning as she walked down the aisle towards her groom. The ceremony brought a smile to everyone's face and as the newlyweds walked down the aisle all the nerves had gone and they both beamed, I think this has to be one of my favourite photos from the day, it’s just pure joy. These are a few of my favourites from the day. Congratulations Louise and Greg!

  • Becky and Nathan get Married at The Ley Inn, Chorley.

Becky and Nathan met on Tardy Park in Lostock hall when she was 14 he was 17, they had mutual friends and one friend decided the two needed to meet so she dragged her along to meet Nathan. Nathan wasn't going to go to the park that day and he's so glad he did, he managed to pluck up the courage to ask Becky out after chatting to her for three days. After deciding to book them a last-minute hotel room at the Lancaster House Hotel to celebrate their 9th anniversary Nathan decided to take the opportunity and propose to her in the Hot tub, wanting to keep the ring safe he didn't bring it down to the spa but left it upstairs. When they went back to the room it was nowhere to be found, turns out he'd left it at home which according to Becky is a proper Nathan thing to do. They had been planning on getting married in 2020 but decided to tie the knot on their 11th Anniversary before their baby arrived instead so they could all share the same surname and start family life together. It was a lovely winter wedding they had planned in only two months with friends and family around them. Here are a few of my favourite photos of the day.

  • Amelia and Harry John get married - Falcon Manor, Settle

Harry John and Amelia met at Bradford Grammar School in 2008 when she joined the sixth form. Harry John was the Rugby captain and Amelia says she had some competition but she got her man in the end. After a whirlwind high school romance they both headed of to university but distance was no obstacle for these two and they kept their long distance relationship alive and in 2015 bought their first house together. They got engaged in November 2013 and if you haven't read their story head to their engagement shoot in January here They have had a rough journey to their wedding day. It was originally planned for the end of July 2019 but Harry John became very ill and they needed to postpone it til 8th December. Sadly Amelia's mum died before the new date. They both decided to go ahead anyway, it's what her mum would have wanted. The day was truly a day filled with love and joy. You could feel it in every part of the day from the littlest detail to the biggest moments. The ceremony was held at Harry Johns family church, St Stephens Church in Skipton. It's a venue I have never been to before but it is a lovely bright church. HJ was sat at the front anxiously waiting for Amelia to arrive, that sort of happy anxious waiting for the biggest moment of his life to start. It was so lovely to finally see these two high school sweethearts finally get married. It was such a celebration of love and family.

  • Mary's Family Shoot

I was asked if I would shoot a fun family shoot for 3 siblings, their kids and a dog and off course I said yes. We picked a weekend where all the family would be together as they live all over the country and would be coming to Preston for one weekend. The Saturday morning of the shoot it started to rain and after a few messages we decided to go ahead with the shoot and just have fun in the rain. We did some posed shots for the grandparents but mainly everyone just payed in the rain. Here are a few of my favourites from the shoot...

  • Meeting Isabelle

The very first photo shoot I did with Alisa from Inside Studio and her husband Jon was just before they met their first little girl Evelyn two years ago. We did a mini maternity shoot about 2 weeks before she was born. I was also pregnant at the time and we chatted all about what we thought life as a mum would be like. Haha how wrong we were! A few weeks ago we did a new mini maternity shoot to remember this little one before she arrived. It was funny comparing the bumps and trying to guess whether this little one would be a girl or a boy. We planned to do a Fresh 48 (newborn) shoot a few days after Isabelle was born but sadly Evelyn had been poorly so we moved the date by a few days. It worked out really well as it meant that Alisa's mum was here and we could get a few photos of her with her precious little grand-girls. It was hard to pick my favourites but these are a few of them:

  • Meeting Reuben

I love being a small part of peoples lives and capturing different moments and memories for them. I photographed Rachel and Jonathan's Wedding In July last year and today I met their newest family member Reuben. Reuben is 9 days old today so it's a perfect time to capture some wonderful memories. When I arrive he's busy having a little feed and Charlie the dog is very excited about a new visitor.

  • Rachel's Family Shoot

I've had the privilege of photographing Rachel and her family for the past few years now and today we went out with her sisters to do a family shoot as a surprise present for her mum. We headed over to the local park with the kids, toddlers and babies as well as grown ups with our wellies ready for the mud. It was a lovely shoot, here are a few of my favourites:

  • Liz and Sam get married in Zurich

Liz contacted me early in 2018 to ask if I would fly to Zurich and photograph her wedding, I mean I didn't really have to think long and hard about it of course I said yes! We chatted via Skype and went through the details of the weekend. Liz is from Lancashire and Sam is from Switzerland so they were having a wedding of mixed traditions. I was excited and nervous to head to Zurich, I have never done a destination wedding before, the furthest I have travelled to photograph a wedding is Oxford. I packed all my kit and took my trusty assist-band (assistant/husband) Rob with me to help with logistics and carting kit around. We arrived to a beautiful sunny Zurich day and headed to our hotel to prepare for the wedding the next day. The Saturday morning we woke up to rain clouds and a grey sky, apparently Zurich and Lancashire have the same weather system, undeterred we headed to Liz and Sam's flat where everyone was meeting to head over to the registry office. They have a different way of getting married in Zurich. You HAVE to get married at the registry office and then you go onto your venue where you can have another ceremony. At the registry office it was just family, bridesmaids, Rob and me. It was completely different than you'd expect, the bride and groom and their witnesses sit around a large table to go through the ceremony which was all in German a language I don't speak however after doing so many weddings I got the gist. It was still raining when we left the registry office but took a couple of minutes to capture some lovely photos around the river. We then headed to Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall where they had the main ceremony with all their friends and family and family. We were even treaded to some traditional music. It was a wonderful day celebrating a wonderful couple. Even the rain didn't put a dampner on it. Here are a few of my photos from the day. Enjoy!
